2006 Volkswagen Jetta Reviews



The Jetta is available with a choice of three engines. It comes standard with a 2.5-liter five-cylinder engine rated at 150 horsepower. The basic model is also available as a Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle using a version of the 2.5-liter five-cylinder that emits almost no pollution. Also available is highly regarded for VW 1.9-liter four-cylinder TDI turbodiesel in 45 states. The GLI comes with a new 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that has an output of 200 horsepower. Safety features that come standard on all models include front airbags, side-impact airbags for torso protection and curtain airbags for head protection come standard with front active headrests and seat belts with retractors emergency locking for the five seats. Rear side airbags are optional. Active safety systems include antilock disc brakes with electronic brake force distribution, traction control and electronic differential lock. Electronic stability control is standard on all but the Value Edition and comes with hydraulic brake assist.
